The 26-year-old is accused of fatally shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, near Times Square in New York last December. After a five-day manhunt, Mangione was apprehended in Pennsylvania on multiple state and federal charges. Bondi's request pertains to federal charges of murder, stalking, and possession of a firearm, which, in extreme cases, could result in the death penalty.
